US Open - on the back nine
June 15th 2008 22:42
Well, Tiger Woods, after dropping three shots in the first two holes and battling knee pain has steadied his round.
He’s coping with the knee problem by easing off his shots and going for a more conservative approach.
It’s paid off to the extent that he’s not making errors and got a shot back on the par-5 ninth to be one-under and one behind Lee Westwood and one ahead of Rocco Mediate.
Given how consistently this trio are hitting the ball, one them should lift the trophy at the end of the day.
If it’s Tiger it will be amazing as he has not looked comfortable all morning but he’s doing what he needs to be in contention.
He’s playing within himself – and that may be enough.
