Beijing briefing
August 14th 2008 10:24
Hey folks,
Sorry this is a bit late this week but I'm in Beijing for the Olympics and have been quite distracted.
The worst thing about Beijing is that I didn't get to see Padraig Harrington's amazing PGA Championship win.
The guy is developing a steel trap mind when it comes to closing out majors - he just doesn't blink and I'm really looking forward to seeing him go head-to-head with Tiger Woods at the Masters next year.
As I didn't see the showdown at Oakland Hills I can't say much more except that Harrington has finally arrived and he won't go away for a while.
As for this week's Wyndham Championship, I haven't had a chance to look at the field and who's in form but I'll be really interested in how teenage New Zealand amateur Danny Lee performs.
Lee got an invite to the tournament based on his win at the prestigious Western Amateur tournament where he replicated what Phil Mickelson and Scott Verplank did by winning the strokeplay and matchplay.
He's real class and a name for the future.
Until later, enjoy the games and pray for the day golf gets included!
